Meet Nutmeg. She is a full time farm dog and a full time lap dog. She joined Pinewood Christmas Tree Farm’s team in October 2016–the same weekend we planted our first round of Christmas trees. We had planned on getting a bigger dog, but who can resist that cute little face? (Don’t tell Nutmeg, but there may be a big dog addition to the farm team later on.)
Nutmeg works hard and plays hard. She loves spending time with her friends Maddox and Mia, and even her cousins Alex and Ruby when they are visiting.
It’s not all fun and games, though. After all someone has to smell all the trees to make sure they smell like trees. And someone has to guard the trees from mosquitoes, and look for earthworms in the planting material.
When Nutmeg needs a checkup she goes to her glamorous Vet’s office, complete wth a chandelier in the exam room.
She doesn’t have a thick coat, so if it’s cold outside she buries herself in covers and won’t get up for anything. To help with this she agreed to model some handmade knitwear and a novelty T.
She only has eyes for Jamie, and when he gives in to a belly rub, she dies and goes to heaven.
All that farm work makes a dog tired. So tired she sometimes falls asleep with a chew stick in her mouth.
She doesn’t know how good she has it.
