Family Friday: Farm and Family Updates

We buried our kitty yesterday. We are feeling a little more peace and hurting a little less each day. Staying busy helps too; and we have plenty to keep us busy around here. Here are some of them:

We are now mobile! And I don’t mean phones. We bought a Kawasaki Mule this week. It’s not fancy but it gets us around. Up until this week we have been trekking on foot across the steep hills on all twenty five-ish acres. So life is getting ready to get a little easier.

We have been busy in the garden. Jamie got tired of bending over to plant and came up with this invention. You can make about anything out of PVC and duct tape I suppose.

We have found three more bonus watermelon plants that have sprung up in between the beans and peas!

I have found and eaten the first ripe blueberry! It was guuuud.

We have already picked several peppers, and the tomatoes are looking good too. I may go on and pick a few soon to make fried green tomatoes.

We have been working hard but we make sure to enjoy our downtime too. There has been music on the porch while catching fireflies, playing in the sprinkler, and eating homemade ice cream. We are just trying to soak up every bit of joy we can from the great weather we’ve been having lately.

Oh! And the seeds for the fall garden have arrived! Now I just need to figure out where I’m going to put everything, and that’s the fun part!
