Fiber Tuesday: A Good Quick Project

I have issues with patience. I can do a big project once in a while, but after I finish I need some quick projects. They are kind of like palate cleansers. These can include wash cloths, scarves, mittens, socks, and maybe a shawl–but that’s pushing it. My favorite quick project is a hat, and my favorite type of hat is a kid’s hat. Part of the reason I love to make hats is the freedom I find in it. I’ve made enough hats that I don’t need a pattern, and the creative possibilities are endless–especially with kids hats.

When Maddox was small enough for me to put cute hats on him without him realizing what I was doing, I always had a shark hat for him. I still have the ones I made back then. The kids were in the mood to model tonight.

I like to make hats for Jamie too.

and mittens.

This winter Mia asked me to make her a scarf. She was so excited to wear it.

I plan on knitting some green and red Christmas hats to sell when we sell our Christmas trees this winter. Here are a few that I’ve made already.

If you are looking for a good quick project with lots of room for creativity, try a hat. They’re fun!

I love writing and knitting. I am a work from home accountant, and I'm learning to be a Christmas tree farmer with my husband and two children.
